My Story

Following college, I returned to the Outer Banks and began building a career rooted in both performance and education. I currently teach piano throughout the school year, working with a studio of approximately twenty-four students. Teaching is a steady part of my work and keeps me closely connected to the day-to-day practice of music.

In addition to teaching, I serve as the accompanist at Outer Banks Presbyterian Church, performing for weekly services, memorials, concerts, and rehearsals. I also collaborate regularly with First Flight High School and First Flight Middle School, accompanying winter and spring concerts, serving as music director for Mean Girls, and performing as the accompanist for the All-County Choir.

Whether I’m teaching, accompanying, or performing, my goal remains the same: to share music people love, bring people together, and help create moments that are remembered long after.

I began playing piano at age three, growing up on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. By age seven, I performed in my first piano competition at the College of the Albemarle, and from that point on, music became a constant in my life. Summers were spent attending piano camps in New York and, at age twelve, studying at La Rondine School of Music, where my interest in continuing music more seriously began to take shape.

Alongside classical training, I became involved in jazz ensembles throughout middle and high school, qualifying for North Carolina All-County and All-State. I continued studying through summer programs at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, East Carolina University, and UNC Chapel Hill, which helped broaden my musicianship and performance experience. At age fifteen, I began performing locally in my first acoustic duo, Static Attitude, playing regularly at Outer Banks venues and music festivals such as Outer Banks Seafood Festival & Mustang Music Festival.

After graduating from First Flight High School, I attended Elon University, where I studied music and arts administration while continuing private piano study. As a freshman, I was invited into the Inclusive Elon Music Ambassadors, touring throughout the United States and performing at schools and events while representing the university’s music program. I later served as tour coordinator, helping organize performances and travel for the ensemble. In 2022, I was awarded the Shackley Keyboard Award at Elon University.
